Open Hand would love to partner with any school or group for an after school program. Below we have a few examples of what we have done in the past. We are open to partnerships that will come up with new and exciting afterschool programs. We also offer our own after school program, Hand in Hand Youth Theater.
Learn about masks & puppets from other countries, make African style masks, Mardi Gras masks, many different puppets- birds, spaceships, bugs, elephants, Chinese dragons, airplanes, Santa, fantasy creatures, etc.
Learn about masks & puppets from other countries, and an introduction to giant puppets, designing and constructing giant puppets of your choosing in teams of 2 or 3 (depending on continuity), writing a speech and presenting your puppet to a group.
Learn basic acting skills through improvisation and script-reading, masks, and rehearsals. Students will perform a variety show before an audience. This class requires attendance weekly especially as the performance approaches.
