Open Hand Theater’s popular Theater Arts Circus Camp for students who have finished grades 2-8 (usually ages 7-13) will be held at Blessed Sacrament School in Eastwood this summer. This year's theme is: Wizards, Witches and Magical Creatures! Circus Camp is a mixture of creativity, giant puppets, physical activities and performance arts. Campers will learn creative problem solving, teamwork and leadership skills while building lifelong friendships.
Campers choose 3 of the four courses – juggling, acting, dance and art – and attend 45 minutes of instruction in each course each morning.
In the afternoon, everyone comes together to rehearse for the circus performance. The final few days of camp are primarily spent rehearsing and making finishing touches.
Session 2 offers an Autism Inclusion program, Sponsored by CNY ASA. Students on the Autism spectrum should meet with camp staff prior to registration to ensure a successful experience. For more information, contact Andrea Wandersee at andrea@openhandtheater.org.
